Meet the Team

Chiropractic

     
 

Anthony Metcalfe is the founder of the clinic and graduated in 1976. He has served as President of the European Chiropractic Council, President of the World Federation of Chiropractic and as President of the British Chiropractic Association.

     
 

Tom Greenway graduated as a Chiropractor in 1990. He and his wife, Rikke, now run the Waldegrave Clinic.  Tom has worked at the Olympic Medical Institute with the British Olympic Association.  He has attended the 1996 and the 2000 Olympic Games and is involved with the provision of physical therapy services at the forthcoming Olympics in London.  He is also currently working with Queens Park Rangers Football Club after previously working with Chelsea Football Club.  He has lectured extensively in the UK and internationally.

     
 

Nicholas Loftus graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 1994 (having previously worked in the wine trade for 5 years!) and joined the clinic in 1995. Since that time he has obtained a postgraduate diploma in Extremity Chiropractic (1997) and more recently has completed a postgraduate study in Dry Needling (Western Acupuncture), both of which have been of particular use in his practice. He is very keen to introduce all his patients to self-help spinal exercises regardless of age or occupation in order to complement his treatment.

     
  Emma Morris graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 1995 and joined the clinic at that time. She also has a degree in Human Biology and a postgraduate qualification in treating children and pregnant women.
     
 

Owain Evans has always had a keen interest in exercise, medicine and healthcare, studying anatomy at Cardiff University before graduating with a Master of Chiropractic degree at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in South Wales. He has conducted research into the effects of spinal manipulation in collaboration with the British Olympic Association, and has a keen interest in exercise and rehabilitiation.

His treatment aims to make future episodes of back pain less likely by improving the strength and condition of his patients.  This is done by focusing on spinal stability, posture and balance so that the patient can feel more confident that their back is in optimum condition for the future.

     
 

Matthew Clifton-Hadley graduated with a Master of Chiropractic degree from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2009.  From a young age Matthew has had a keen interest in the chiropractic profession as his father was a chiropractor.   Matthew has a special interest in treatment and rehabilitation and also works with Queens Park Rangers Football Club.

     

Physiotherapy

     
 

Jacky Balfour trained at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge and graduated in 1983. She has been working in private practice in the Teddington area since 1990 and her main interest is on all aspects of musculo-skeletal dysfunction.

     
 

Tracey DiMatteo qualified in 1987 and specializes in the treatment of orthopaedic conditions and soft-tissue injuries including sport injuries.

Vincent Singh graduated and trained in South Africa where he worked in a sport injuries clinic before relocating to the UK. He has worked full time in academic teaching on a sport rehabilitation degree programme for the past five years. His interests are in sport injury prevention and rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and cardiac rehabilitation.

Jehan Yehia

Jehan Yehia qualified in 1996 and has worked in both the NHS and private practices.  Jehan's niche area is working in elite sports having spent the last 2 years working with Pure Sports Medicine enhancing her experience with musculo-skeletal  and orthopaedic injuries and rehabilitation.  She has worked with the GB Kayak Squad, the highlight of which was going to the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

Jehan is particularly skilled in dealing with problems in the upper body and spine.  She has a particular interest in exercise physiology, rehabilitation and takes a periodisation approach to training programmes.  Passsionate about health promotion and fitness as a form of wellbeing, Jehan also has a strong interest in holistic treatments and their benefits for a healthier lifestyle.

On a perosnal level, Jehan practises martial arts and loves to surf whenever possible.  She is also fluent in Arabic. 

     

Acupuncture

     
Penelope Brougham  

Dr Penelope Brougham qualified in medicine at Liverpool University and is a registered medical practitioner. She is a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society and has studied and trained in various parts of the world including China. Dr Brougham also has a Masters degree in hypnosis from University College London and is a member of the British Society of Medical and Dental Hypnosis.

     
 

 

 

Ulrike Wirth graduated from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading, with a BSc(Hons) in Acupuncture. She practises an integrated style of traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture. She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council where she also works as Safe Practice Officer. In addition to her work at the Waldegrave Clinic she practises at the Sir William Rous Unit at Kingston Hospital where she supports cancer patients with acupuncture alongside their conventional treatment. Ulrike is particularly interested in women's health, including menstrual and menopausal problems and  problems during pregnancy. 

 

 

     

Aromatherapy / Massage / Reflexology

     
 

Jennie Sibley has worked at the clinic since 1997 and qualified in therapeutic, holistic and Swedish massage therapy, aromatherapy and reflexology at Raworth International College of Natural, Nutritional and Sports Therapies in Dorking.  She has taken a variety of post qualification trainings to extend her range of remedial massage and reflexology skills, including how to apply these to pregnancy, as well as nutritional advice, postural alignment, polarity and Reiki, all of which can be included in her treatments.  Through studying aspects of Chinese and Indian Medicine, Jennie can balance body energy in a variety of ways.  Jennie is a member of the Independent Professional Therapists International (UK). She has practised in a gym, offices, residential care homes, hospice, pharmacy clinic and domiciliary visits.

     
 

Joan Ahern is an ITEC graduate of St Mary's University College where she qualified in Massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology, and is a member of the International Council of Holistic Therapists.  She has been practising at the Waldegrave Clinic since 2003.  Her areas of special interest are back, neck and shoulder problems, children and prenatal/postnatal women.

In addition to working at the Waldegrave Clinic, she also works as a complementary therapist for the NHS in a palliative care setting (predominantly with people who have cancer, COPD or MND) and also has many years' experience of working with people who have neurological disorders such as MS or Parkinson's or who have had a stroke.

     
 

Margaret Solomon MICHT Reiki Master and Teacher. Margaret’s background is in Medical Science with 9 years experience as a holistic therapist specialising in therapeutic massage and aromatherapy. Margaret’s treatments have a strong emphasis on after care. She has worked within the business, corporate, health and fitness and complementary clinic environments and also designs and facilitates workshops for groups.

     
 

Iain Burgess is a full time, highly qualified Massage Therapist. His expertise  is in restoring ranges of movement and relieving pain and stiffness in soft tissue, both for sports and non-sports people.

Qualified with ITEC diplomas in sports massage, holistic massage and certificates in many further massage types and techniques, Iain is a member of the Complimentary Therapists Association.

     

Homeopathy

     
Robin Hayfield  

Robin Hayfield qualified at the College of Homeopathy in London in 1989. He has written several books on homeopathy and is co-principal of the South Downs School of Homeopathy in Chichester

     

Podiatry

     
 

Sagara Palliyage graduated from the University of Westminster and received full membership of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists, State Registration and Certificate in Local Anaesthesia in July 1998. His main interest is in Biomechanics and Sports Injuries, and to extend and develop his knowledge of sports injuries. He is currently undertaking undergraduate studies in physiotherapy and an MSc programme in the Management of Lower Limb Musculoskeletal Pathologies.

Paul Agustin graduated from the University of Westminster in July 1998 receiving full State Registration and a certificate in Local Anaesthesia. Registered by the Health Professions Council, Paul also works within the NHS and has a particular interest in biomechanics, diabetic foot care and diabetic foot screening. Paul is a keen sports enthusiast, in particular rugby, football and athletics.

     

Pilates

John Calvert is a highly experienced  and fully qualified Pilates Instructor.  He designs and teaches Pilates classes that will suit complete beginners right through to elite athletes.  Registered with the Regsiter of Exercise Professionals, John is also a qualified fitness intructor and he holds Olympic Weightlifting Instructor Certification.

In addition to working a the Waldegrave Clinic, John runs a variety of Pilates, fitness and strength and conditioning sessions for both one-to-one and small groups.
