What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is a long-established method of treatment using massage with pure essential oils from plants to enhance its effects. Each oil has a unique set of therapeutic qualities. Many conditions improve with this therapy.

What conditions can an Aromatherapist treat?

Aromatherapy can:
* give a feeling of well-being
* relieve aches and pains, including arthritis, headaches, migraine and back pain
* relax tense, tight muscles
* improve circulation
* tone the skin and improve hair
* help lift depression and anxiety
* calm stress-related problems such as insomnia, fatigue, PMT
* balance energy
Massage techniques used depend on your needs. They can be combined in a single treatment.

* Deep massage can be given for physical conditions such as stiff muscles.
* Stiff muscles can also be treated with lighter massage if preferred.
* Holistic massage is lighter and balances energy (a free flow of energy is recognized as essential to health in Chinese medicine).
* Lymphatic drainage is a light, relaxing massage to reduce swelling.
* Specialized techniques for massage to the head, face and scalp.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is an ancient method of stimulating the body's own healing mechanism by balancing energy. Points on the feet correspond to all parts of the body. Congestion or tension in any part of the foot mirrors that in a related part of the body. Systematically massaging the whole foot can have a relaxing and healing effect on the whole person. Reflexology has been successfully used in relieving many acute and chronic conditions.
